Abstract: Protagonista di questo flip-book, è Basello, arredo mobile progettato da Achille Castiglioni nel 1987, la cui funzione si può declinare in molti modi: scrivania, comodino, scaletta, seduta… fino a evolversi nella libreria mobile Joy. Giovanna Castiglioni sin questo flip-book sceglie di parlare di Industrial Design attraverso un nuovo linguaggio. "Mi hanno chiesto più volte di scrivere un libro sulle storie legate ai progetti di mio padre, Achille, includendo aneddoti ed episodi legati alla mia sfera familiare. In questo primo progetto ho voluto restituire, in due secondi, proprio una storia di Industrial Design. Rispettando l’ironia di un papà straordinario, ho voluto portare alla luce alcuni dettagli meno noti della sua, della mia, della nostra vita privata, traducendo in forma grafica quello che faccio normalmente quando racconto i suoi progetti.”

Abstract: Pincherle Studio progetta e realizza residenze private, uffici, allestimenti e negozi. Lavora in Italia, dove, oltre alla progettazione di appartamenti, si dedica alle abitazioni di campagna e al recupero di spazi industriali. Importanti anche le esperienze all'estero, soprattutto a Londra, dove progetta e realizza numerose residenze private. Il volume è una retrospettiva che celebra il lavoro dello studio, in memoria della sua fondatrice. Include interviste a fotografi e designer, focus sui progetti più importanti di ristrutturazioni e restyling di interni, e un regesto dei lavori svolti negli anni, dal 1999 al 2020.

Abstract: A volume devoted to Giugiaro and Italdesign could hardly not be included in the Masterpieces of style series. Giugiaro is one of the most prestigious names in the history of automotive design, synonymous with iconic cars such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT and Alfetta, the Volkswagen Golf, the Audi 80, the Fiat Panda, Uno and Punto, the Lancia Delta, Thema and Prisma and the Maserati Bora, Ghibli and Merak, to mention but a few of the most successful designs to carry the Giugiaro name. Born in 1938 at Garessio in the province of Turin, Giugiaro honed his professional skills at Bertone and then at Ghia before setting up on his own when founding Giugiaro Italdesign in 1968. Today the firm is as active as ever and has been responsible for concept cars such as the Caimano, the Iguana and the Canguro, all based on Alfa Romeo mechanicals, and the Asso di Picche and the Quadri on respectively Audi and BMW chassis. This monograph covers this long technical and stylistic history, drawing on a clear, comprehensive text and hundreds of photographs, many of which previously unpublished.
