Abstract: In this story, a sort of post mortem memorial, Warner tells the story of Calvin, a Maltese cat. Although it was not a very adventurous cat it had many qualities: grace, joy and dignity. Calvin was smart enough to have devised a perfect way to be understood. It liked walking in the garden, among the birds, under the sun. Its origin, as well as its death remain shrouded in mystery and Calvin is remembered as a quiet and loyal friend by all the neighbours
